Role Description The Commercial Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB, supporting the financial operations of commercial properties within Rimrock’s portfolio. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining accurate financial statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and performing regular reconciliations of accounts and ledgers. The role involves managing tenant billing, tracking revenue and expenses, and supporting month-end and year-end reporting processes. The Commercial Accountant will collaborate with property managers and leadership to provide timely financial insights, ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies, and help optimize financial performance across assigned properties. Qualifications Strong proficiency in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, with the ability to prepare, analyze, and present property-level financial information. Solid foundation in Finance and Management Accounting, including budgeting, cost allocation, and variance analysis. Demonstrated Analytical Skills for interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and providing actionable recommendations. Experience with accounting software and property management systems; advanced skills in spreadsheet and office productivity tools. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional accounting designation (or candidacy) is an asset. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements applicable to Canadian real estate and property management.
