Our client is a growing and well-established organization within the construction industry seeking an Estimator to join their collaborative, team-oriented environment. Reporting to the General Manager, the Estimator will play an integral role in the planning and execution of construction projects by preparing accurate and timely cost estimates, reviewing project documentation, and collaborating with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will analyze drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to determine labour, material, and project requirements while ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and within budget expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities: The key job functions are: Review blueprints, specifications, scopes of work, and technical documents to prepare accurate project estimates and quotations. Perform material take-offs and quantity measurements for multi-family developments. Analyze project documents and resolve discrepancies by gathering and evaluating relevant information. Collaborate with builder representatives, estimators, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders through phone, email, and site visits. Prepare and submit complete project quotations within established timelines and client deadlines. Revise and reissue estimates to reflect site changes, revised drawings, or updated project requirements. Support the Production Coordinator by providing clarification on project scopes, subcontractor inquiries, and construction-related questions. Visit project sites as required to assess conditions, verify project requirements, and gather information related to labour, materials, and installation methods. Work closely with management on complex projects, pricing strategies, and estimate reviews. Maintain organized project records, estimate documentation, and related correspondence. Adhere to company policies regarding health and safety, confidentiality, and respectful workplace practices. Represent the company’s values, culture, and commitment to quality in all interactions with clients, builders, and industry partners. Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations and project success.
Education: Completion of a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset. Equivalent combinations of education, industry training, and practical construction experience will also be considered.
Experience: 3+ years of estimating, project coordination, construction administration, or related experience is required. Experience within roofing, siding, exterior construction, residential construction, or a similar industry is strongly preferred. Experience estimating multi-family residential projects would be considered a significant asset.
Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong mathematical and analytical abilities. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook. Experience using estimating and take-off software such as PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), or similar platforms. Ability to think critically, solve problems, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments. Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency and quality.
Base Salary: $60-70k per year Salary based on experience. Benefits provided after probationary period. This position offers long-term career stability, opportunities for professional growth, and the chance to join a respected organization within the construction industry.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday Regular working hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, with occasional flexibility required to accommodate project deadlines, site visits, or business needs.
Additional Notes: This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required. All applicants must be authorized to work in Canada to be considered for employment.
