About the role
Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Mechanical & Electrical Coordinator with experience in commercial buildings for a leading Canadian construction organization. This is an exciting opportunity for an organized and driven construction professional looking to grow their career while supporting commercial, institutional, civil, and large-scale construction projects. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Mechanical & Electrical Coordinator will provide leadership and coordination for mechanical and electrical construction activities, supporting projects from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout.
Location & Schedule
Location: Edmonton, AB (primarily office-based with regular travel to project sites) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts Job Type: Permanent | Full-time Compensation: Competitive salary, performance bonus, annual increases, and comprehensive benefits
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate mechanical, electrical, elevator, and site services activities throughout project lifecycles. Review drawings, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders to ensure constructability and compliance. Support project scheduling, commissioning, testing, and building turnover activities. Monitor quality control, site inspections, safety compliance, and trade performance. Coordinate subcontractors and consultants to ensure project milestones, budgets, and schedules are achieved. Assist with temporary services, utility coordination, and site infrastructure requirements. Track project documentation, progress billing, closeout packages, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical construction, in commercial buildings, educational, institutional, and large-scale projects. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems, construction practices, and applicable codes. Experience coordinating subcontractors, shop drawings, commissioning, and quality control processes. Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Strong proficiency in construction documentation, scheduling, and project coordination.
