Birch Mountain Enterprises LP (BME) is hiring Lube Shop Labourers for our Fort McKay Incubator and Industrial Park Locations, north of Fort McMurray. What's in it for you? Job Summary
Operating from our Fort McKay shop, this position is responsible for the general upkeep, troubleshooting and manual labour tasks associated with our fleet of light vehicles and highway trucks. This position reports directly to our shop foreman and is required to work collaboratively with fellow personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
Refuel, change oil and lubricate vehicles and equipment in a safe and environmentally responsible manner to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime. Assist with general upkeep, cleaning, labour tasks and/or duties as needed at the worksite, yard, or shop. Assist and perform general labour and delegated tasks including basic preventative measures, troubleshooting, cleaning of vehicles and equipment, identifying and removing safety hazards. Complete any paperwork and documentation accurately as required, including but not limited to field level hazard assessments, near miss and hazard ID’s. Act as a spotter for vehicle or equipment moves if necessary. Complete daily housekeeping of assigned area, the shop, yard and vehicles. Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to company policies, procedures and standards. Maintain and operate all BME tools and equipment to the required standards and procedures. Proper use of PPE while performing daily duties. Perform any related and/or additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Possess valid driver’s license (min class 5) with clean abstract. Previous or related experience is considered an asset. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. OSSA, or OSSA BSO, CSO or CSTS certification is required. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Must successfully pass BME pre-employment driving evaluation, D&A and fit for duty pre-employment screening.
