Role Description The Business Development and Admissions Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Kingston, ON. This role is responsible for generating new inquiries, building relationships with prospective learners, and guiding them through the admissions process from initial contact to enrollment. Day-to-day tasks include responding to phone, email, and walk-in inquiries; conducting admissions interviews; assessing learner needs; and presenting suitable programs and funding options. The specialist will actively develop and maintain partnerships with local employers, community organizations, and agencies to promote the college’s programs and support referral pathways. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate CRM and student records, participating in outreach events and information sessions, meeting enrollment and business development targets, and collaborating with campus leadership to support marketing initiatives and continuous improvement of admissions processes. Qualifications Strong sales, business development, or recruitment skills with proven ability to meet or exceed targets in a service-oriented environment. Experience in admissions, student services, career counseling, or a related role in post-secondary education or private career colleges. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse adult learners and community partners. Solid organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple inquiries, follow-ups, and deadlines with attention to detail. Comfort with CRM systems, student information systems, and common office software (e.g., MS Office, email, virtual meeting tools). Knowledge of local labor market trends, vocational training pathways, and funding options for learners (e.g., government programs, scholarships) is an asset. Ability to work on-site, including occasional evenings or weekends for events, with a collaborative and professional approach. Post-secondary education in business, marketing, education, counseling, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
