About Us
The Palliser School
Division and the Southern Alberta Collegiate Institute (SACI) take pride in
serving multiple school divisions and are committed to providing safe, caring,
inclusive, and responsive learning environments. At SACI, our E3 program is a unique
career pathways initiative designed for students in grades 7–9. Through
project-based learning and hands-on workshops, E3 introduces students to
exciting careers in agriculture, health care, and trades, equipping them with
industry-relevant skills and building their confidence for the future.
Palliser is committed to
supporting the values of empathy, integrity, respect, trust, and
responsibility. We are looking for an individual who embodies these values to
join our collaborative team.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly
collaborative, flexible, and proactive Program Support Educational Assistant to
support the daily operations and delivery of hands-on learning experiences for
the E3 program. Unlike a traditional Educational Assistant role focused on
supporting individual students with specific needs, this position is uniquely
designed to support overall programming. You will work across multiple program
areas—including trades, agriculture, and health care—to ensure that our
learning environments, events, and workshops run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Workshop &
Program Delivery:
Assists instructors during hands-on activities, supports
student transitions between sessions, and reset learning spaces between groups
to ensure readiness.
- Inventory &
Resource Management:
Organize, track, and maintain tools and
equipment, prepare "ready-to-use" workshop kits for instructors, and
monitor consumable materials.
- Agriculture
Facility Support:
Maintain hydroponic systems and plant-based learning
environments, and prepare resources for seasonal agriculture programming.
- Student &
Event Supervision:
Provide support and logistical assistance for student
transitions, breaks, tours, and large group events.
- Program
Support:
Format student-facing resources, assemble materials for new
activities, and support the setup and testing of new program activities.
Student
Engagement:
Working directly with
students during hands-on workshops and project-based programming, the role
requires someone who can effectively build rapport and support student
learning, build confidence, and ensure high engagement in all learning
activities.
Qualifications &
Personal Attributes
- Personal
Traits:
Patient, flexible, and empathic, with the ability to build a
strong rapport with students. Must be a reliable self-starter with a positive
attitude and problem-solving mindset.
- Work Habits: Highly
organized with strong time-management skills; comfortable working independently
and as part of a collaborative team in a hands-on environment.
Assets: A basic understanding
of workshops, the trades, agriculture, as well as experience with inventory
management or event support, is considered an asset.
Mandatory Requirements
To maintain a safe and
secure working environment, successful applicants must provide:
- A Criminal
Record Check, including a vulnerable sector check from a Local Police Service
or RCMP detachment.
- A Social
Insurance Number (SIN) card or document matching your Government Issued ID and
Criminal Record Check.
Government-issued ID (valid driver's license,
passport, or Nexus card).
How to Apply
Please submit an online
application with the following attachments:
- A cover letter
directed to Mr. Jason Kupery, Associate Superintendent Alternative Programs.
- A current
resume.
- A copy of
post-secondary transcripts (if applicable).
- A copy of your
most recent evaluation (if unable to provide, please explain why in your cover
letter).
A minimum of three professional references,
including phone numbers and email addresses for each.
By submitting an
application, you agree that the superintendent or designate can conduct
confidential reference checks with previous employers.
