About the role
Contract Worksite Leader Location: Lloydminster, SK/AB Contract Duration: 1 year (August 17, 2026 – August 16, 2027) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Contract Worksite Leader to provide field leadership for routine and major maintenance activities at the Lloydminster facility. Reporting to the CHO Senior Maintenance Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing maintenance execution from planning and field implementation through to close-out while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with corporate objectives and operational standards. This position requires a highly professional and collaborative individual with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. The Contract Worksite Leader will work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to foster a “One Team, One Goal” culture focused on safety, reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Safety and Reliability Compliance Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and procedures. Oversee Safe Control of Work (SCOW) processes, ensuring permits, hazard controls, and safety requirements are properly implemented. Report and investigate safety incidents in accordance with COIMS Element 8 Incident Management processes. Serve as the primary point of contact for safety audits, compliance reviews, and procedural adherence during maintenance activities. Conduct Line of Defense (LOD) assurance activities, monitor safety barriers, and implement corrective actions as required. Ensure safety-critical equipment and systems are properly maintained to mitigate operational risks. Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and recommendations to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency. Work Management Participate in daily notification and planning meetings to discuss upcoming work, resource requirements, and potential risks. Validate contractor and vendor work completion and ensure accurate documentation within Salesforce. Confirm, update, and close work orders in SAP and Salesforce, ensuring maintenance records are complete and accurate. Support work management processes by identifying execution challenges, reviewing weekly schedules and maintenance backlogs, and recommending process improvements. Scheduling and Execution Monitor maintenance progress and validate quality and completion against scope, schedules, and preventive maintenance requirements. Track and communicate production-impacting maintenance activities. Conduct and review risk assessments for non-routine and high-risk work. Act as the primary field contact for contractors and vendors performing maintenance and repair work. Coordinate contractor activities to ensure alignment with site safety standards, work plans, and project requirements. Provide regular updates on critical maintenance activities and identify potential risks, constraints, or bottlenecks. Perform hands-on tool work when necessary to support maintenance execution.
Qualifications Required Minimum 10 years of experience in turnaround, construction, maintenance planning, and/or maintenance execution within the oil and gas industry. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing maintenance, construction, or project execution activities involving complex and critical scopes of work. Strong working knowledge of work management processes, construction activities, turnaround execution, and maintenance close-out practices. Experience with Safe Control of Work (SCOW), Asset Risk Management, and Line of Defense (LOD) assurance programs. Strong communication, interpersonal, stakeholder management, and team-building skills. Preferred Extensive field execution experience with a strong understanding of industry practices, codes, and standards. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience. Experience using SAP and Salesforce for work management, cost monitoring, work identification, confirmation, and closure activities. Proven experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and multiple stakeholder groups. Work Environment Physical Requirements Field-based role with office responsibilities. Approximately: 60% field monitoring and oversight in plant environments 15% computer-based work 15% meetings with support groups and stakeholders 10% employee and vendor interactions Working Conditions Fast-paced operational environment with a high workload. Frequent interaction with contractors, operations teams, maintenance personnel, and vendors. Strong focus on safety, reliability, execution excellence, and operational performance.
