Cloud Systems Architect
About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Systems Architect to help build and modernize a secure, scalable cloud platform supporting enterprise applications and digital transformation initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong infrastructure or cloud engineering background who enjoys combining technical implementation with cloud architecture, governance, and platform strategy. You'll play a key role in establishing cloud standards, enabling workload migrations, and building the foundation that future cloud services will run on.
What You'll Do Design and implement secure cloud landing zones and foundational cloud architecture. Establish cloud governance, standards, and best practices across the organization. Lead infrastructure modernization and migration initiatives using rehost, replatform, and refactor strategies. Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or CloudFormation. Configure and maintain cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, storage, and platform services. Support the implementation of cloud security controls, compliance requirements, and Zero Trust principles. Develop reusable automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment standards. Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application teams to deliver reliable cloud solutions. Monitor platform health, optimize performance, and improve operational resilience. Create technical documentation, architecture standards, and operational procedures. Mentor technical teams on cloud engineering best practices and modern DevSecOps approaches
What We're Looking For 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or cloud architecture. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure. AWS experience is considered an asset. Experience designing and implementing Azure landing zones and cloud platform services. Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred; Bicep, ARM, or CloudFormation also considered). Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management (IAM), security, governance, and compliance. Experience with cloud migrations from on-premises environments. Proficiency with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices. Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, including servers, networking, virtualization, storage, backup, and disaster recovery. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions.
Nice to Have Experience with containers and Kubernetes. Experience implementing Policy as Code. Experience working in regulated or highly secure enterprise environments. Microsoft Azure certifications.
