Job Purpose
The BIM Modeller – Electrical is responsible for developing and coordinating electrical BIM models and design documentation for the light rail project using Autodesk Revit and/or Autodesk Civil 3D, depending on the asset type and project scope. The role covers building electrical systems and external electrical infrastructure, supporting multidisciplinary coordination and compliant project delivery.
Missions/Main Duties
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain electrical BIM models for stations, depots, substations, OCC buildings, ancillary buildings, and external rail electrical infrastructure. Model electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, containment, cable trays, conduits, grounding/earthing, low voltage systems, and associated supports where applicable. For external works, support modelling of duct banks, cable routing, trenching, utility corridors, and interface elements in Civil 3D where required. Maintain fully functional, coordinated, and up-to-date electrical BIM models within the ACC-Forma collaborative platform, ensuring proper file linking, shared coordinates, version control, model accessibility, and compliance with project collaboration procedures. Produce electrical drawings including layouts, sections, details, schematics references, schedules, and coordinated installation drawings from the model. Coordinate electrical models with architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, rail systems, and telecom disciplines. Ensure compliance with project BIM standards, BEP, modelling procedures, naming conventions, and information requirements. Participate in clash detection, coordination meetings, and model reviews. Incorporate engineer mark-ups, design revisions, and coordination comments into models and drawings. Support extraction of quantities and asset information from the BIM model where needed. Maintain model quality, parameter consistency, worksets, file references, and shared coordinates. Assist in preparing design deliverables at various project stages from concept through detailed design and construction support.
Profile/Skills
Required Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Drafting, or a related discipline. Proven experience as a BIM Modeller / Electrical Modeller using Revit and/or Civil 3D. Strong understanding of electrical layouts and drafting standards for infrastructure or building projects. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for building electrical systems. Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D for external electrical infrastructure is highly desirable. Ability to interpret electrical design criteria, single-line concepts, layouts, and engineering mark-ups. Familiarity with multidisciplinary coordination and BIM workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience on rail, metro, tramway, airport, or large infrastructure projects. Knowledge of Navisworks for clash detection and model review. Familiarity with station buildings, depots, substations, and linear infrastructure coordination. Experience in data-rich BIM environments and asset information requirements.

The reference salary range for this role would be $65,000 - $85,000 CAD / Annually
