About the role
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. As a vital part of our restaurant management, the Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hospitality. Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff, including cooks and food handlers, to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality food preparation
- Oversee daily food preparation activities, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met
- Support the Head Chef in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining proper food handling procedures
- Lead by example in practicing food safety protocols and maintaining cleanliness standards within the kitchen
- Coordinate with serving staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and excellent customer service
- Train new team members on cooking techniques, safety procedures, and restaurant policies
- Contribute to menu development and special event planning to enhance guest experience
- Monitor kitchen operations during shifts, troubleshoot issues promptly, and uphold hospitality standards
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and culinary techniques
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Extensive restaurant management experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Experience with restaurant operations, including inventory control and quality assurance
- Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
