Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction or Industrial Electrician to join our team. The Electrician will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, drawings, safety protocols, and electrical codes.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in industrial buildings. Read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Install and connect wiring, conduit/raceway systems, wiring devices, circuit breakers, and other electrical components according to electrical codes, project specifications, and safety regulations. Test electrical systems and circuits using testing devices to ensure proper functioning and safety. Troubleshoot electrical issues and identify faults in wiring, circuits, and equipment. Collaborate with other construction professionals, engineers, and contractors, to ensure electrical systems meet project requirements and deadlines. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools, equipment, and materials are properly stored and handled. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site. Keep up-to-date with advancements in electrical technology, codes, and regulations.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or technical school training in electrical systems preferred. Journeyman Electrician license or relevant certification required. Proven experience working as a Construction Electrician. Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring methods, and building codes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Proficiency in using electrical tools and equipment, such as wire cutters, pliers, voltage testers, and power tools. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and climbing.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to bend and install EMT and rigid conduit will be considered an asset. Valid Workplace First Aid training. Valid Fall Arrest & MEWP training.
Working Conditions
Electricians may work in confined spaces and at heights, requiring proper safety precautions and equipment. The job may involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
