About the role
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Receiver to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments to ensure seamless warehouse operations. This role requires familiarity with warehouse management systems, shipping and receiving procedures, and equipment operation such as forklifts and reach trucks. The Receiver plays a vital part in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting efficient order fulfillment processes in a fast-paced environment. This shift is currently a 4am-12:30pm currently. We require availability for OT and the possibility of a shift change to 7am - 3:30pm.
Responsibilities
1.Receiving & Putaway (Primary Function)
- Receive inbound material accurately and efficiently.
2. Organization & Space Management (When No Receiving Is Occurring)
When there is no immediate receiving or putaway work:
- Use the empty building time to identify problem areas (congestion, clutter, misplaced inventory, poor access).
- Consolidate, reorganize, and correct these areas before normal operations begin.
- Ensure all inventory, equipment, and supplies are:
- Clearly located
- Logically organized
- Easily accessible
- Resolve clutter proactively rather than moving it elsewhere without purpose.
3. Pallets, Docks & Common Areas
- Determine and maintain designated locations for:
- Empty pallets
- Skids, bins, and excess packaging
- Ensure pallets are not left in aisles, dock doors, or staging areas.
- Confirm dock areas, aisles, and emergency access points remain clear at all times.
4. Facility Readiness & Accountability
- Ensure the building is ready for the rest of the team before shift change:
- Clear walkways
- Organized staging areas
- No unnecessary obstacles or abandoned material
- Receivers are responsible for overall accessibility and flow of the warehouse.
- If something does not have a home, it is the receiver?s responsibility to assign one and make it happen.
*5. Picking Support *
- When there is no receiving or putaway work required:
- Picking support does not remove responsibility for monitoring space, organization, or readiness.
- Ensure all received product is properly labeled and placed into its designated location.
- Space management and putaway are a 100% receivings responsibility, regardless of who physically executes the movement.
- Receivers own the general location, flow, and organization of all inventory in the building.
Skills
- Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, or other warehouse equipment is preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS),
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures and order fulfillment processes
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements
- Experience with order picking, packing, and load & unload operations in a warehouse setting
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution practices fulfillment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate recordkeeping
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
- Basic physical stamina for lifting, standing, and moving items throughout shifts

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
