Job Description
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for attending to maintenance concerns
that are generated by Housekeeping, Owner Relations and the Front Desks. They are to resolve the maintenance requests in a professional manner, being courteous to guests that they encounter while representing Big White Central Reservations at the highest level.
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to
- Attend to maintenance requests, including but not limited to: locating and repairing plumbing leaks, troubleshooting electrical problems, repairing door lock mechanisms, repairing damage to units and unit’s contents, painting/staining and general maintenance
- Ensure company vehicles are driven in a responsible manner and are maintained and serviced when required
- Comply with all established department and company policies, procedures and code of ethics
- Uphold the highest standard of internal and external customer service levels at all times
- Fulfill tasks in a time sensitive manner
- Follow all Health & Safety protocols and procedures
- Any other request made by a Central Reservations Manager
Ideal Candidate
- Trade qualification required (Plumber, Carpenter, Electrician)
- Reliable and responsible
- Previous maintenance experience is an asset
- Exceptional guest service skills
- Proven self-motivation, ability to work well with minimal supervision
- Excellent organization, time management and communication skills
- Must have a high level of attention to detail
- Good Personal Grooming
Job Specifications
- Full-time - working up to 40 hours per week
- Wage - $22.50 per hour
- Start date - early September and early October
- Must have full-privileged BC driving license (no L’s, N’s or P’s) or be willing to obtain one with our guidance
- Must have had a driving license for 3 years with a clean driving record
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Staff accommodation may be available for approved applicants
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift/maneuver heavy items
- Operate power tools as per trade requirements
- Must be able to shovel snow/ice
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
