About the role
National College of Indigenous Scholars Coordinator – Term position
National College of Indigenous Scholars
Saskatoon Campus
Under the direction of the Dean, National College of Indigenous Scholars (NCIS) the coordinator will contribute to the establishment of NCIS by planning and organizing events, advisory circle meetings; and building visibility of NCIS locally, nationally and internationally through the development and implementation of a communications strategy.
The First Nations University of Canada (FNUniv) allows students of all nations to learn in an environment of First Nations cultures and values. Duties:
- Develop a communication strategy.
- Develop reporting templates and processes to ensure communication between team members, and internal/external partners.
- Plan, organize and facilitate webinars, virtual and in-person meetings.
- Provide status updates on projects and events, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Manage documentation in SharePoint, maintain records, take meeting minutes.
- Manage website updates, and social media presence.
- Public speaking and presentations as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of policy, procedures and other written documents.
- Assist with monitoring budgets, and financial reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of annual reports.
- Assist in the ongoing evaluation of program development.
- Identify delays, or challenges arising, and suggest strategies to mitigate risk.
- Other duties as assigned to achieve the vision and goals of NCIS.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Master’s degree and at minimum three (3) years of experience working in a post-secondary context.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
- Knowledge of First Nations history, cultural diversity, values and traditional ways of knowing, being and doing.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Experience in website maintenance is preferred
Experienced project manager preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to plan events.
- Ability to manage several projects at once while maintaining deadlines.
- Works collaboratively as a member of a team and demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to establish positive relationships.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent resource monitoring skills.
- Confident public speaker, facilitator and presenter.
- Offers and accepts feedback and self-advocates for needs.
Salary Range: This is an APT position Grade 5 ($67,075 - $90,315)
