About the role
Overview
Brandt is looking for Operator Safety Trainer for our Saskatoon location. To help meet our growing client base, we are looking for additional Operator Safety Trainers (Material Handling, Compact and Heavy Equipment) to complement our existing team. Applicants must be driven health and safety professionals with a desire to help businesses build a safer workplace.
As part of a high-performing team, you will assist customers ensure that aspects related to equipment training meet their legislative responsibilities by delivering high-impact and effective classroom and practical equipment training. In addition, you will also assist with developing and selling equipment training solutions as a subject matter expert. Applicants should have prior industrial safety training experience, specifically, teaching in training classrooms and at customer locations in Industrial, Energy & Resources, and/or public sectors(s).
Applicants must possess sound knowledge of adult education principles, have exceptional communication (written and verbal) skills, and a work history of at least 5 years of providing training to employees both inside and outside of their organizations.
Applicants must possess intermediate computer skills, a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel to clients across territory as needed including occasional evening and weekends.

What You Will Be Responsible For
- Facilitate both in-person and on-site training courses to audiences across different industries using adult learning principles and best practices
- Rely on industry knowledge of various subjects with the practical application to accurately answer participant questions with sensitivity, professionalism, and inclusivity
- Conduct training needs analysis to identify the skills and knowledge required for all levels within the courses
- Perform practical evaluations for courses (powered mobile equipment, fall protection, crane & rigging)
- Ensure that administrative/regulatory requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner, including training records, timesheets, expenses
- Act as a subject matter expert as required to assist in the development or modification of course content
- Provide feedback to relevant internal teams to ensure seamless, accurate, and meaningful content delivery to the customers
- Work closely with leadership, training coordinator, administration, and sales team to best understand the needs of our clients and share any relevant information and opportunities to maximize both customer satisfaction and revenue generation
What We Look For
- Post-Secondary Education in Health and Safety or related experience
- Health and Safety certifications and accreditations (e.g., WHMIS, Working at Heights, Train the Trainer programs)
- Solid understanding and knowledge of legislation including but not limited to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Canadian Standards Association, the Canada Labor Code, and other applicable Health and Safety regulations
- 5+ years of practical experience using adult learning techniques and best practices in a trainer/facilitator capacity including both virtual and in-person environments with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experienced with learners from various industries such as industrial, construction, manufacturing and public
- CRSP certification is a strong plus, as is an Adult Education
- 2+ years delivering Health and Safety Programs including Equipment Training, Working at Heights, and Train the Trainer
- Proficiency with using MS Office, Learning Management Systems, tech-savviness, and the willingness and ability to embrace new technologies
- Possess a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel to customers across territory as needed including occasional evening and weekends
