About the role
` Energy Program Specialist Festival Hydro is seeking a motivated and results-driven Energy Program Specialist to join our team. This role will support the delivery of Energy & Demand-Side Management (eDSM) initiatives and conservation programs funded through Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) framework, including Save on Energy programs. The successful candidate will engage residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional customers to identify and implement energy-saving opportunities, support incentive applications, and help Festival Hydro strengthen program performance, customer participation, compliance, and future Stream 2 readiness. Key Responsibilities Support customer outreach and engagement activities to identify opportunities through Save on Energy and other IESO-funded programs. Support customers through incentive applications, project implementation, and energy action planning. Promote participation across all customer classes, including residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. Track program performance, budgets, KPIs, customer participation, and verified energy savings. Coordinate reporting, compliance, and documentation requirements to ensure alignment with IESO program requirements. Support the development and execution of annual eDSM plans, budgets, and performance tracking Frameworks. Assist with the development of Festival Hydro’s future eDSM Stream 2 plans by supporting customer data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and identification of local program opportunities. Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies to promote energy efficiency programs and conservation initiatives. Collaborate with internal teams, industry peers, IESO representatives, and LDC working groups. Serve as a key point of contact for customers by providing guidance on program eligibility, incentive offerings, and participation requirements. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and governance groups to ensure program activities are effectively managed and aligned with organizational priorities. Participate in webinars, training, industry events, and LDC collaboration opportunities to maintain current knowledge of evolving eDSM programs and requirements. Qualifications Diploma or degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, Energy Management, Business, or a related field. Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP), or willingness to pursue certification is considered an asset. Experience in energy efficiency, conservation programs, utility operations, demand-side management, customer service, or a related field. Strong customer engagement, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and reporting requirements. Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting customer usage data, program metrics, and KPIs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, CRM tools, and data analysis software. Knowledge of Ontario utility programs, Save on Energy offerings, or IESO conservation frameworks is considered an asset. Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel occasionally within the service territory and to industry events. Compensation The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $93,000 per year, based on qualifications, experience, skills, and internal equity considerations.
