About the role
Our client, one of Canada's leading banks, is looking for a Process Improvement and Business Analytics Consultant to join a high-impact transformation team in the payments space. This role focuses on modernizing payment operations through automation, reconciliation, AI-driven solutions, and business process improvements. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technology teams to deliver scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. Contract: 12 months (extension possible) Hybrid: 2 days onsite per week (Monday & Tuesday) Location: Toronto, ON
Key Responsibilities Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for payment modernization initiatives. Support automation, reconciliation, and operational process improvement projects. Collaborate with business, technology, QA, and operations teams to deliver scalable solutions. Support test planning, SIT, UAT, regression testing, and implementation activities. Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Develop reports, dashboards, and documentation to support project delivery. Participate in stakeholder meetings and communicate project updates effectively. Assist with payment exception analysis, reconciliation processes, and operational controls.
Must-Have Skills 3–7 years of Business Analysis experience within banking or financial services. Strong knowledge of payments operations, reconciliation, settlement, and exception management. Experience with process automation using Python, SQL, Power Automate, Alteryx, UiPath, or similar tools. Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and regression testing. Strong data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development skills. Experience working on AI-enabled automation or intelligent process improvement initiatives. Excellent stakeholder management, analytical, and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills Experience working on large enterprise transformation programs. Experience with a Top 5 Canadian bank. Knowledge of payment modernization initiatives and enterprise automation.
