Objective: Reporting to the Director of Imports, the Fit and Spec Technician is responsible for ensuring the workflow within the Fit team. As well as collaborating with designers and suppliers to develop the fit and specifications for each garment. Responsibilities: Ensure the consistency of the fit, specification, quality, and construction of each garment Communicate efficiently with overseas agents/vendors in regard to standards, specifications, quality requirements as well as any important issues Receive samples from overseas agents/vendors Measure, take sample dimensions and verify workmanship of garment Analyze the fit of the samples on the model and take organized notes during fitting sessions Create grading charts and send fit comments with technical drawings (if necessary) to the agents/vendors Keep track of all samples and paperwork, comparison of first samples, PP and Tech Pack specs Required Qualifications: 5 + years of experience in a similar role Diploma in fashion/design Knowledge of denim, sweater knits, dresses and coats; an asset Bilingual: French and English Strong understanding of womenswear garment design and production Ability to multitask, prioritize and work under pressure Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong Illustrator and Excel skills Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment Pattern making experience; a must Joseph Ribkoff is an equal opportunity at will employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of age, race, religion, color, disability, sex, sexual orientation or national origin.
