Job summary
K.R.A Initiative Ltd. is seeking a passionate and skilled French Robotics Instructor to join our growing STEM education team in the Greater Toronto Area. This is a hybrid role, combining in-person and remote responsibilities depending on class schedules and program needs. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children and young learners and should be able to confidently teach robotics, engineering, coding, and STEM concepts in French. The instructor will lead engaging, hands-on robotics classes where students learn by building, experimenting, programming, testing, and solving problems. Our goal is not simply to teach theory, but to create an interactive learning environment where students can develop technical skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and confidence while also strengthening their French communication skills. Key Responsibilities Teach robotics, engineering, coding, and STEM concepts primarily in French. Deliver engaging, hands-on robotics lessons to children and young learners. Guide students through building and programming robots and completing STEM projects. Teach age-appropriate concepts involving robotics components, sensors, motors, electronics, and programming. Introduce students to coding and computational thinking through practical projects. Encourage students to use and develop technical vocabulary in French. Prepare lesson plans, activities, demonstrations, and project materials. Help students troubleshoot robots, code, electronics, and project challenges. Encourage creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback. Maintain a safe, inclusive, organized, and positive learning environment. Communicate professionally with parents/guardians and the K.R.A Initiative team when required. Support robotics demonstrations, STEM events, workshops, and educational activities. Contribute to the continuous improvement of K.R.A Initiative’s French-language robotics curriculum. Qualifications Strong spoken and written French is required. Strong English communication skills are an asset. Education or experience in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, Software Development, Mechatronics, Electronics, STEM Education, or a related field is preferred. Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or working with children/youth is strongly preferred. Familiarity with robotics platforms, Arduino, sensors, electronics, Python, Scratch, or similar technologies is an asset. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to beginners. Strong communication, organization, patience, and classroom-management skills. Enthusiasm for robotics, technology, innovation, and STEM education. Ability to create an engaging environment where students feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes, and learning.
