Job Brief Assists school-aged children to cross intersections at cross-walks Employment Status Temporary Part-Time Union NON-UNION Open To Internal/External Applicant(s) Date Of Posting 12/08/2026 Closing Date Duration (if temporary): School Year, approximately September to June Job Title Temporary Crossing Guard Wage $19.17 hourly (2026) Reports To Executive Assistant, Engineering and Corporate Assets Department Engineering and Corporate Assets Location As Assigned **see below Hours Approximately 2 hours per day, Regular Guards Other Hours are varied, requiring attendance mornings before school starts and after school, Monday to Friday from September to June. **Crossing Guard assignment location is Cameron (Fenelon Township) Job Description Assist children crossing intersections at crosswalks Liaise with school officials regarding any problems Perform other related duties as assigned Skills/Education Required Prior Crossing Guard experience an asset Effective oral communication and strong interpersonal skills to deal with children, members of the public, and all levels of staff Ability to exercise discretion and tact Excellent customer service skills at a level to develop and to maintain cooperative working relationships both within and outside the organization An acceptable Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector, required upon verbal offer of employment. Applicants must be prepared for skill testing.
