Position: Full--Time Long Term Occasional Teaching Position - Intermediate/ Senior qualifications and FSL preferred Location: Beaver Brae Secondary School Union Affiliation: OSSTF-Occasional Teachers Effective October 28, 2026 until return of incumbent, but not beyond June 25, 2027. GROW YOUR CAREER WITH KPDSB Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) is situated in beautiful Northwestern Ontario. KPDSB serves the educational needs of approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala. Additional information regarding the Board is available on the Boards web site at Applicants must include, the name of three references, and authorization for the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board to contact the references, and a copy of the Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of qualification. These documents should be uploaded directly into your Apply to Education portfolio/application. Qualifications OCT Certificate required. Intermediate/Senior and French Second Language qualifications or experience preferred. An understanding of current educational philosophies, teaching and learning strategies involved in the Ontario Curriculum, Continuing Education, the Adult Education Credit Strategy, Achieving Excellence, the Renewed Math Strategy Will be familiar with First Nations, Inuit and Metis Cultures within our region and experience working with First Nation, Metis and Inuit students, their families and communities within Northwestern Ontario. Experience as a staff developer, lead learner and facilitator Excellent leadership and organizational skills Familiarity with and/or experience in working cooperatively with staff, administration and educational partners This position will require a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) or a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) at the employee’s expense upon hire, and every five years subsequently.
