Additional information regarding the Board is available on the Board's web site at Position Summary Under the general direction of the Superintendent of Special Education, the Speech Language Pathologist provides speech-language pathology services to students with a variety of communication challenges, which may include receptive and expressive language, articulation, phonology, etc. Qualifications Master’s degree from a recognized institution in speech-language pathology is required. A minimum requirement of 5 years of experience in providing speech language pathology services including Experience Working With Children And Students, Is Preferred. Registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (“CASLPO”). Knowledge of Regulated Health Professionals Act (“RHPA”), Personal Health Information Protection Act (“PHIPA”), and other relevant legislation. This position will require a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) or a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) at the employee’s expense upon hire, and every five years subsequently. WORKING CONDITIONS Position is required to conduct and report on standardized tests and assessments, and design evidenced-based intervention plans , which require increased attention to detail. Position is required to travel to schools across the Board for speech-language pathology visits with students, school teams, and caregivers. Position is required to provide clinical guidance and delegation to Speech-Language Assistants in accordance to CASLPO standards. Position is required to maintain documentation as per college guidelines and Board procedures. Requirements
A master's degree in speech-language pathology from a recognized institution and registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario are required. At least five years of speech-language pathology experience is required, with experience working with children and students preferred; knowledge of relevant legislation and a satisfactory background check are also required.
