Project Technologist

SUMMARY Keewaytinook Okimakanak is a non-political Chiefs Council serving six remote First Nations communities; Deer Lake,Fort Severn, Keewaywin, McDowell Lake, North Spirit Lake, and Poplar Hill First Nations. The organization is directed bythe Chiefs of the member First Nations who form the Board of Directors. Through its close awareness of communityneeds and its team approach, the Council advises and assists its member First Nations. The Council provides services in the areas of public works, health, education, economic development, employment assistance, legal, finance, administration, and telecommunications (K-Net Services). Keewaytinook Okimakanak liaises with the six Chiefs and Council members, and with other organizations and governments. Reporting to the Public Works Manager, the Public Works Project Technologist will be responsible for acting as a resource and advisor; as well as planning, development and implementation of capital projects. Frequent travel to remote First Nation communities will be necessary. QUALIFICATIONS * Community College or University graduate in the Technology/Technician related fields or an associated specialty * Current member or ability to complete certification to obtain membership in Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) * Current member or ability to complete certification to obtain membership with the Ontario Building OfficialsAssociation (OBOA) * The ability to read/interpret plans and specifications * Strong communications skills (written and verbal) * Must possess a valid Ontario's Drivers License * Must have access to a licensed and insured vehicle A CAREER WITH KEEWAYTINOOK OKIMAKANAK OFFERS YOU * Competitive wages * Benefits and pension package * Opportunity for training and growth

Candidates must have a college or university degree in a technology-related field and a valid Ontario Driver's License with a vehicle. Certification or the ability to obtain membership with OACETT and OBOA is required.
