Senior DevOps & Platform Engineering Consultant Job Type: Contract Work Environment: Enterprise / Large-Scale Technology Environment About the Role We are seeking a Senior DevOps & Platform Engineering Consultant to support enterprise-wide initiatives focused on platform engineering, software delivery modernization, DevOps transformation, and AI-enabled engineering. In this role, you will partner closely with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and platform teams to improve developer productivity, modernize software delivery practices, and accelerate the adoption of automation and AI-enabled engineering tools. This is a hands-on role for someone who can combine strong DevOps and CI/CD expertise with an understanding of modern developer experience, GitHub Enterprise, and AI-assisted software development. Key Responsibilities Support platform engineering and software delivery modernization initiatives across the enterprise. Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices. Drive adoption of modern software engineering and delivery practices. Evaluate and implement AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows to improve developer productivity. Identify practical AI use cases across the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Work with engineering and platform teams to improve development and software delivery workflows. Leverage GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions to enable modern developer workflows and automation. Contribute to GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development adoption where applicable. Identify opportunities to standardize and streamline engineering processes through automation. Collaborate with architects, engineers, infrastructure teams, and product stakeholders. Provide hands-on technical expertise for high-priority modernization and transformation initiatives. Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and help teams implement scalable solutions. Required Qualifications DevOps & Software Delivery Strong hands-on experience with DevOps practices and software delivery modernization. Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and infrastructure automation. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and modern engineering practices. Experience supporting DevOps transformation initiatives within large enterprise environments. AI & Engineering Productivity Experience evaluating or implementing AI-assisted software development and engineering productivity tools. Understanding of practical AI use cases across the software development lifecycle. Experience with tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development platforms is highly valuable. GitHub Strong experience with GitHub Enterprise. Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions. Strong understanding of source control management and modern Git-based developer workflows. Experience enabling or supporting enterprise developer adoption of GitHub-based engineering practices. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Platform Engineering or Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs). Experience building or supporting self-service developer tools and platforms. Experience with Developer Experience (DevEx) initiatives. Cloud-native development or modernization experience. Experience working in large, complex, or regulated enterprise environments. Financial services / banking industry experience is a plus.

Requirements

Strong GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions experience is required, along with familiarity with practical AI-assisted development use cases; platform engineering, DevEx, cloud-native, and banking experience are advantageous.
