Job summary
Company Description Kheeran Corporation (Kheeran Group) delivers advanced Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) services for railroad ballast investigation worldwide, helping clients improve rail safety, performance, and maintenance planning. Its non-destructive GPR solutions provide accurate, rapid insights into subsurface ballast conditions, supporting safer and more reliable rail operations. Kheeran also specializes in Ultrasonic Pulsed Echo Scanning to detect voids and honeycomb defects in large concrete structures without causing damage. These services are used across major infrastructure projects to assess structural integrity and extend asset life. With a global service footprint, Kheeran partners with rail and infrastructure stakeholders to keep critical structures strong, safe, and resilient. In this role, the technician supports GPR and related non-destructive testing (NDT) operations, including equipment setup, calibration, and basic maintenance. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting GPR scans under supervision, collecting and organizing field data, and assisting with preliminary data review and documentation. The technician helps prepare reports, diagrams, and summaries for senior technical staff, ensuring accurate records of survey locations, conditions, and findings. The role also involves coordinating with project managers, following safety protocols on-site, traveling to field locations as needed, and participating in ongoing training to develop technical skills in GPR and LiDAR. Qualifications Foundational technical skills in geophysics, civil engineering, surveying, or a related field, with an interest in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and non-destructive testing. Ability to learn and operate field equipment (GPR units, data loggers, sensors) and follow standardized procedures for setup, calibration, and basic troubleshooting. Strong data handling skills, including collecting, organizing, and documenting field measurements, and basic familiarity with spreadsheets, mapping tools, or data visualization software. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work safely with field crews, project managers, and technical staff, and to contribute to clear, concise technical notes and reports. Reliable adherence to safety standards, willingness to work in outdoor and rail or construction environments, and capacity to travel to field sites as required. Relevant education such as a diploma or coursework in science, engineering, technology, or surveying; prior experience or internships in field work, construction, or infrastructure inspection are an asset. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet any site access requirements (e.g., PPE, safety training); experience in ultrasonic testing or other NDT methods is considered an advantage.
