Our Hamilton/Oakville and Kitchener offices are hiring Senior Accountants for our Public Company practice in the following client groups: CIM (Consumer and Industrial Manufacturing) Asset Management (Funds, Real Estate, Construction) FI (Banks, Credit Unions and Insurance) TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications) ENR (Energy and Natural Resources) What you will do Apply KPMG's audit and accounting practices and methodologies at client engagements. Conduct external and internal financial statement audits for both public and private companies. Leadership of field engagement teams as well as coaching and mentoring junior staff members. Perform analysis of complex accounting issues. Perform financial and systems analysis. Develop and maintain relationships with clients. What you bring to the role Must have relevant post-secondary degree Enrolment in the CPA Canada professional education program or holding another nationally recognized professional accounting designation an asset 2+ years post graduate experience in external audit of publicly listed entities (PCAOB, IFRS and/or US GAAP) Excellent project management, teamwork and interpersonal skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently, with little supervision and within a team environment Effectively monitor multiple or complex projects regularly to check progression against deadlines and budget Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client relationships Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service while demonstrating professionalism in the performance of duties Uses previous experience and technical knowledge to the benefit of the client Able to use a range of techniques to analyze an issue KPMG Ontario Pay Range Information The expected base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $88,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills, & competencies, and unique qualifications. What you’ll do

The Senior Accountant will conduct external and internal financial statement audits for public and private companies while applying KPMG's methodologies. They are also responsible for leading engagement teams, mentoring junior staff, and performing complex financial and systems analysis.

Requirements

Candidates must have a relevant post-secondary degree and at least 2 years of post-graduate experience in external audit of publicly listed entities. Proficiency in PCAOB, IFRS, or US GAAP standards is required, along with strong project management and communication skills.
