The Software Support Specialist plays a key role in the Immigration IT team that is responsible for implementing and maintaining internal desktop and web applications as well as designing application solutions to support business strategies. The successful candidate will be a quick learner with a positive attitude who is looking to join a fast-paced and exciting environment. What you will do Establish an understanding of our internal and client facing web applications Monitor service requests and provide first level support to internal/external users Prioritize multiple requests and respond in a timely manner Communicate effectively with internal and external users to understand the requests and offer solutions and/or escalate to the development team Create new accounts for users and maintain current accounts Change settings in legacy/new applications Update data in SQL Server database for ongoing changes Develop code in .NET Framework to make changes in current code or add new functionalities Perform functional and performance testing for current and new code Work with the development team to detect/fix bugs Nice to have experience with Azure DevOps What you bring to the role Bachelor’s or College degree in Computer Science is required 3 years of experience with SQL relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server Transact-SQL is preferred) and capable of writing SQL statements and procedures 3 years of experience in .NET Framework (C#, ASP.NET) Demonstrated knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery Ability to work independently and with other team members Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external users Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail, and ability to synthesize large quantities of data/information KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $71,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or College degree in Computer Science and possess at least 3 years of experience with SQL relational databases and .NET Framework. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are also required.
