From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro1-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first. About the Role The Electro-Optical Engineering department at L3Harris WESCAM is looking for a co-op student to work as a junior engineer on hands-on projects related to our core technology: Optics. You will work with senior members of the team and conduct various testing, analyses and presentations. The team offers a supportive learning environment where you will be provided with as much challenge as you are willing to undertake. Primary Responsibilities Test complex Electro-Optical assemblies such as infrared imaging systems, laser rangefinders or low light & daylight digital cameras Develop image enhancement algorithms in Matlab Perform laboratory tests on a wide variety of sophisticated imaging & laser equipment to support new product design activities Generate advanced analyses to support senior Optical Design Engineers Evaluate state-of-the-art commercial technologies and identify potential suppliers for integration into WESCAM products Required Capabilities Knowledge of basic optics principles: Laser Systems Geometrical Optics, Imaging, Lens Design Radiometry Electro-magnetic waves propagation Thin-film optical coatings Experience in experimental optics Experience with standard electrical test equipment Strong mathematical and analytical skills Experience with Matlab or a similar software package Strong programming or lens design skills are an asset Desired Education and Experiences Enrolled in an Engineering Physics Degree Program or related field Must be able to complete a 16 month Co-Op term starting May 2026 Currently enrolled and in good standing with co-op program through accredited university Able to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance Diversity & Inclusion We believe that diversity among our employees makes us a stronger organization. Requirements

Candidates must be enrolled in an Engineering Physics degree program or a related field and be available for a 16-month co-op term. Applicants must possess knowledge of optics principles and be eligible for Canadian Controlled Goods Program clearance.
