The Cultural Program is located in La Ronge, Morins Hill. About the position: The Indian Residential School (IRS) Supervisor provides overall supervision and direction to the Indian Residential School (IRS) and Cultural Support Workers. The IRS Supervisor works under the supervision of the Cultural Manager. The position focuses on directing and supporting the planning, proposal writing and implementation of cultural programs. Duties: ➢ Maintain and oversee all administrative and support activities of the IRS/Cultural Support Program and ensure that activities are carried in accordance with the direction of and in accordance with the agreements and contracts, held within the department as a whole; ➢ Develop schedules and assign tasks as appropriate in each community area; ➢ Track and ensures follow through on cultural activities as outlined in community schedules; ➢ Ensures documentation is completed and updated, including program records and individual program reviews; ➢ Ensures annual work plans are developed and implemented in accordance with parameters set by the approved funding proposals; ➢ Maintaining contact with provincial health representatives of aboriginal organizations, teachers, physicians and hospitals. Qualifications: Certificate in Social Work or health related field; Two (2) years supervisory experience; Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered; Two (2) years of relevant experience, particularly in the area of community development and/or health promotion and education; Excellent verbal & written communication skills and Public Relations skills; Ability to speak & understand Cree is an asset; Ability to work in a dynamic environment, as part of a team and with minimal direction; communication skills; Must possess a Valid Class 5 driver’s license and have the ability to travel.
