Lacroix Private Medicine is seeking a Director of Surgical Operations to oversee the daily management, performance, and operational excellence of its surgical facilities in Quebec City and Laval. OUR VALUES Passion | Respect | Integrity | Commitment | Innovation The Mandate Are you a recognized field leader known for your positive influence, operational rigor, and ability to mobilize teams in complex surgical environments? Reporting directly to the President and CEO, you will hold a decidedly operational and hands-on leadership role. With a strong presence in both of our facilities, you will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, managers, and the nursing and administrative teams. You will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the entire patient and surgical journey, from pre-operative preparation to post-operative follow-up, including the operating room, recovery room, post-operative rehabilitation unit, continuity of care, and, when required, medical inpatient care. Your Main Responsibilities Ensure daily management and operational performance surgical centers in Quebec City and Laval; Maximize the use of operating rooms, technical platforms, equipment, and infrastructure to maintain optimal occupancy rates, twelve months a year; Collaborate closely with surgeons and teams to optimize schedules and increase surgical volumes; Motivate teams around high objectives for quality, productivity, performance, and patient experience; Ensure optimal staffing planning based on volumes and operational needs; Rigorously monitor key performance indicators: volumes, room occupancy, cancellations, productivity, costs, quality, and satisfaction; Ensure adherence to budgets and pay particular attention to the return on investment of technical platforms, equipment, and infrastructure; Act as the operational lead for maintaining standards Accreditation Canada and ensure ongoing preparation for visits and renewals; Maintain the highest standards of clinical quality, patient safety, infection prevention, and compliance; Maintain a visible and accessible presence with the teams and develop strong, confident professional relationships with surgeons and the entire medical, paramedical, and administrative team. The Profile We Are Looking For Relevant university degree in nursing, health administration, health services management, or a related field; Significant experience managing surgical activities, ideally acquired in an operating room or hospital setting; Excellent understanding of the complete surgical pathway, from pre-operative to post-operative; Experience managing multidisciplinary clinical and administrative teams; Strong relational leadership and excellent ability to work directly with physicians and surgeons; Practical knowledge of Accreditation Canada processes or other recognized quality improvement programs; Strong results orientation, focused on productivity, optimal capacity utilization, and financial performance; Demonstrated ability to combine clinical excellence with business performance; High availability and excellent mobility between Quebec City and Laval. Experience in the private healthcare sector or in an environment where operational and financial performance is directly measured is a significant asset. Compensation And Benefits Annual salary of $150,000 to $180,000, depending on experience; 4 weeks of vacation and 4 floating holidays Paid; Pension plan with employer contribution; Annual health account; Annual and cumulative Lacroix gift card; Professional training and development; Cell phone allowance; Travel expense reimbursement.
