Job Purpose The Research Scientist I – Analytical Laboratory executes laboratory experiments in support of the development of new products and/or renovation projects under supervision and guidance from the Research Scientist III or Laboratory Manager. Laboratory experimentation in the technical areas of the analytical department and provides services to support process and product development, process implementation, cost reduction initiatives, and manufacturing technical services. Responsibility Participate in the planning and execution of routine laboratory analyses in the development of new products and/or product renovations by providing input for the experimental plan and conducting experiments, producing documentation, and interpreting results. Conduct laboratory tests using standard laboratory instrumentation and methodologies to provide results and formulate preliminary conclusions for finalization by the Research Scientist III and/or Laboratory Manager. Support method development in the introduction of new laboratory equipment/methods/tests/ procedures to support innovation and/or improve quality standards. Coordinate the analyses by assessing the requirements to complete the tests to meet the identified deadlines. Communicate experimental results to internal departments to support technical investigation. Consult technical resources (literature, technical papers, and academia) to gain knowledge and implement learnings to identify issues and/or further develop new methodologies. Provide routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment to ensure operational efficiency and performance. Responsible to ensure Quality is fundamental in execution of all work activities and work in compliance to Lactalis Quality and Food Safety.
