About the Organization Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, Ontario, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to surface via a modern one thousand eighty metre deep shaft capable of forty-eight hundred tonnes per day. The milling facility is a conventional free milling gold circuit consisting of crushing, SAG milling, leaching, CIL and CIP, stripping and refining. The mill currently processes up to 232 tonnes per hour from two separate mines and disposes of its tailings via conventional end of pipe discharge. For more information, please visit our website. About The Opportunity We are looking to hire a Surface Tailings Operator to join our Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON. on a full-time basis. The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 8 hours per shift. In this position, you will be responsible for daily inspections of the tailings dam and dykes; tailings pump houses; maintenance and repairs of tailings facilities; fusing, installation, and maintenance of tailings lines; site water distribution/discharge lines; assisting with snow removal and site road maintenance and repairs. Must have experience with dozers, excavators, and loaders. Experience operating a grader and other heavy equipment is an asset. Compensation: This position offers a salary range of $32.00 - $41.30 hourly, based on qualifications and experience. Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position. Vacancy Status: This is an existing vacancy. The successful candidate may begin as soon as possible. More About You In this position, you will be responsible for daily inspections of tailings dams/dykes, tailings/water distribution lines, tailings pump houses, maintenance/repairs of tailings facilities, fusing HDPE pipe and installation/maintenance of tailings/water lines. The position entails being involved with the planning/execution of special projects related to the tailing’s facility and surface operations. The position also involves assisting with snow removal and site road maintenance/repairs. Must have experience operating dozers, excavators, and loaders.
