Purpose The Concierge is an Ambassador of the Hotel and City of Toronto, responsible for greeting and welcoming Guests and assisting them throughout their stay. Communicating with the Guest is the primary responsibility of the Concierge. This includes speaking to them over the phone and in person. The Concierge is the “go–to” person for any of the Guest’s needs and questions. Good communication skills are vitally important and the Concierge is expected to use the Guest’s name when speaking to them. The Concierge will help the Guest feel comfortable and secure and must have an “I can make it happen” attitude. Principal Responsibilities MyGuest • Provides information to guests in order to create memorable experiences and enjoyable stays at the Hotel. This may include providing information on available facilities and services within the Hotel and the surrounding area. It may also include providing information on travel routes, available tours, transportation availability, and in-house meetings. • Books special shows, tours, and other services for guests, including obtaining tickets, setting appointments, and making reservations as needed. • Assists with guest’s business needs (such as internet and sending faxes etc.). • Handles incoming guest mail, faxes, packages; maintains mail log for both incoming and delivered mail, faxes, and packages. • Service must meet and/or exceed the guest service standards of the Chelsea Hotel. MyProduct • Maintain accurate cash handling practices. • Maintain clean and organized work area. MyColleage • Communicates with managers to advise on guest needs. MyChelsea • Be fully aware of Fire and Emergency Procedures. Academic and Working Qualifications Working Experience • Previous Guest Service experience. Knowledge • Computer skills required (Shiji, Word, internet search engines). Soft Skills • Be able to work effectively on a team. • Strong work ethic. • Good organizational skills required. • Languages • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Physical Requirements • Ability to stand for extended periods . • Ability to lift objects up to 10kgs.
