Job summary
Participate in meaningful work The Legislative Assembly Office (LAO) is seeking one individual to join our team as a Venue Services Assistant. The Venue Services branch supports the usage of LAO venue spaces on the first and second floors of the Queen Elizabeth II Building. Reporting to the Venue Services Supervisor, the Venue Services Assistant plays a key role in supporting event bookings and committee meetings, ensuring clients and guests receive exceptional service and support. This is a part-time position that requires flexibility. Depending on event schedules, you may be asked to work early mornings, evenings and weekends. The expected hours for this position are between 12 and 16 hours per week but can vary depending on bookings and peak times. A minimum number of hours cannot be guaranteed. You are able to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic, nonpartisan workplace. You have exceptional communication skills that enable you to assist clients and respond to inquiries in a knowledgeable way, and your outstanding interpersonal skills allow you to interact effectively with team members and clients. You are also comfortable doing a considerable amount of walking and other physical activities when required. Bring your excellence to the LAO Your background will include experience providing exceptional customer service in a hospitality or related environment. Exposure to AV equipment, including teleconferencing and videoconferencing, is considered an asset.
