Job summary

Reporting directly to the Assistant Head of School and working closely with the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors, the Director of Finance and Operations is responsible for the planning and management of all financial aspects of the school, as well as all administrative operations of the school including human resources, risk management, and special projects. ‍Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA designation; A minimum of five years experience in financial management and operations. Experience in an academic or not-for-profit environment is an asset; Solid understanding of relevant municipal legislation/policies and fundraising regulations is an asset. Knowledge, Skills & Technical Abilities The ability to deal with multiple issues across several functions; Excellent leadership, management and team building skills; Excellent interpersonal skills; Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills; Attention to detail and high level of accuracy; Very effective organizational skills; Time management skills; Experience in providing strategic counsel to internal stakeholders and senior administrators including speaking, writing, and presentation skills; Strategic and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills; Flexible, adaptable and excellent team player.

Requirements

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, a CPA designation, and at least five years of experience in financial management. Experience in academic or non-profit environments and knowledge of municipal legislation is considered an asset.
