Business Analyst - Security Screening Process Optimization

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Business Analyst – Security Screening Process Optimization for a 6-month contract (with optional extension of up to 30 months) with its Ottawa-based customer. Work Location The successful candidate will be required to work 12 days per month on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa. Fully remote arrangements are not accepted. Key Tasks Conduct comprehensive current-state assessments of security screening, access management, contractor screening and visitor management processes Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, risks, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements, operational pain points and future-state needs Assess governance, decision-making, accountability, delegation and escalation processes Develop recommendations to simplify, standardize, streamline, digitize and automate program processes Design future-state operating models, process frameworks, workflows, governance structures, roles and responsibilities Develop business and functional requirements supporting workflow automation, reporting and digital enablement initiatives Leverage ServiceNow to support workflow automation, case management, approvals, reporting and process modernization Develop performance measurement frameworks including KPIs, baseline measures, reporting requirements and benefit-realization approaches Develop implementation roadmaps and change enablement strategies Prepare training materials and executive-level recommendations Support the successful implementation and long-term sustainability of the Security Screening and Access Management Program Key Qualifications 7+ years of demonstrated experience in business analysis, process improvement, operational transformation or program modernization within large and complex organizations Demonstrated ServiceNow experience including workflow automation, case management, approval processes, reporting or process modernization 3+ years of experience conducting current-state assessments, gap analyses, governance reviews and risk assessments Qualifications Demonstrated experience with security screening, access management, compliance, risk management, workflow automation, digital transformation or operational resilience Strong experience gathering, analyzing, documenting and validating business and functional requirements Demonstrated ability to conduct process mapping, root-cause analysis and business process re-engineering Experience designing future-state operating models, workflows, governance structures and accountability models Experience developing implementation roadmaps and supporting change enablement Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication skills Experience with tools such as Microsoft Visio, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, Jira and Confluence or equivalent University degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Operations Management, Management Consulting or a related field Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, Prosci or equivalent certification Must be based in Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada Must be eligible to obtain Reliability Status Must be available to work hybrid with 12 days onsite per month in Ottawa Compensation Hourly Rate Negotiable This is an existing position vacancy. Conduct current-state assessments of security screening and access management processes to identify inefficiencies and risks. Design future-state operating models and leverage ServiceNow to automate workflows and modernize program processes.

Requires over 7 years of experience in business analysis and operational transformation, with specific expertise in ServiceNow and security screening. A university degree and certifications such as Lean or Six Sigma are preferred.
