LeverageTek is actively seeking a Microsoft Exchange Specialist for a 6-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer. Work Location The successful candidate will be required to work on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, combined with telework. Key Tasks Provide senior-level architectural and technical expertise for Exchange Online and Microsoft Exchange Server Subscription Edition (on-premises) environments Support the design, implementation, optimization, and modernization of Exchange-related solutions and initiatives Conduct technical assessments and provide recommendations to improve the security, reliability, scalability, and resiliency of messaging services Analyze and resolve complex Exchange infrastructure, mail flow, and integration issues Develop and maintain architecture documentation, technical specifications, and implementation plans Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, and identity teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and best practices Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to the client Key Qualifications Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Exchange Server Subscription Edition (on-premises) and Exchange Online environments in large, complex enterprise organizations Expertise in Exchange architecture, including high availability, disaster recovery, and hybrid deployment models Experience designing and implementing Exchange Hybrid configurations between on-premises and Microsoft 365 environments Qualifications Deep knowledge of mail flow architecture, transport services, connectors, SMTP routing, message hygiene, and email security controls Expertise in Exchange performance optimization, capacity planning, health monitoring, and service reliability Strong understanding of identity integration and authentication technologies supporting Exchange, including Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and hybrid identity models Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD Connect, and hybrid identity solutions Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation for Exchange administration, reporting, and operational efficiencies Experience with Microsoft 365 administration Experience with DNS, certificates, load balancing, gateways, and related messaging infrastructure components Experience working with monitoring and operational management tools for Exchange and Microsoft 365 services Experience integrating Exchange services with enterprise applications, authentication services, and cloud platforms Familiarity with ITSM solutions such as ServiceNow for change management, incident management, and operational processes Ability to create and maintain architecture artifacts, technical designs, standards, implementation procedures, and operational documentation Experience documenting current-state and future-state architectures, technical roadmaps, and transition strategies Ability to provide mentoring, knowledge transfer, and technical guidance to operational and engineering teams Experience preparing technical briefings, presentations, and recommendations Eligible for Governement of Canada Security Clearance Compensation Hourly Rate Negotiable This is an existing position vacancy.
