Job summary
LeverageTek is actively seeking a Security Operations (SecOps) Specialist for a one-year term position with its Ottawa-based customer. Work Location Remote Security Requirement Must be eligible for Reliability Key Tasks Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events, alerts, and incidents across enterprise and cloud environments. Investigate and triage security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate remediation activities to minimize business impact. Operate and maintain security monitoring platforms, including SIEM, SOAR, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and cloud-native security tools. Conduct proactive threat hunting activities to identify malicious activity, indicators of compromise (IOCs), and emerging threats. Manage vulnerability assessment and remediation programs, working with technology teams to address identified risks. Develop and maintain security detection rules, analytics, playbooks, and response procedures to improve threat detection and response capabilities. Monitor and secure Azure cloud environments using Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR, and related security services. Perform security investigations using log analysis, threat intelligence, and forensic techniques. Support incident response activities, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident reviews. Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to implement and validate security controls and best practices. Assist with security audits, compliance assessments, risk reviews, and regulatory reporting requirements. Monitor user and privileged access activities and support identity security initiatives using Microsoft Entra ID. Analyze security trends and threat intelligence feeds to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Develop and maintain security documentation, operational procedures, incident runbooks, and knowledge articles. Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, and cyber incident simulation exercises. Support security awareness initiatives and provide guidance to technical teams on secure operational practices. Contribute to continuous improvement of security operations processes, automation, and tooling. Key Qualifications 3+ Years with Azure services deploymnets & testing CI/CD. Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Key Vault, Service Bus). Hands-on experience executing tests within an active Azure Cloud Architecture. Qualifications ALM & CI/CD: Azure DevOps (Boards, Pipelines, Repos, Test Plans), GitHub Actions Automation Frameworks API Testing Tools: Postman, SoapUI, ReadyAPI Database & Analytics: Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, Advanced T-SQL queries Languages: C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript Proficiency in programming languages (C#, Python, or Java) and automation frameworks Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Assets Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer.
