Job Summary The Programming Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting software and system solutions that enhance manufacturing and engineering operations. This role owns key applications and contributes to system performance, reliability, and continuous improvement across production, quality, and automation systems. Responsibility * Design, develop, and deploy applications supporting manufacturing and engineering processes * Maintain and enhance systems related to production tracking, quality, and traceability * Develop dashboards and reporting tools to support operational decision-making * Integrate plant systems with equipment, PLC data sources, and enterprise platforms * Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for recurring system issues * Optimize system performance, reliability, and data flow * Collaborate with production, quality, materials, and engineering teams * Develop and maintain technical documentation Academic/Educational Requirements * Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field Required Skills/Experience * 3–7 years of experience in software or systems development * Strong programming experience (C#, .NET, APIs, web-based frameworks) * Experience with database design and SQL/database optimization * Understanding of manufacturing processes and business workflows * Experience with troubleshooting and supporting live systems * Experience with manufacturing systems (MES, shop floor systems) is an asset * Familiarity with PLC/HMI systems and data integration is an asset * Experience with real-time production data and analytics is an asset What Linamar Has to Offer * Competitive Compensation * Employee Benefits package includes but not limited to, Drug, Dental & Vision etc. * Opportunities for career advancement. * Sustainability Council * Community based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charities. * Discounts for local vendors and events, including auto supplier discounts.
