Lions Concrete Cutting is looking for an experienced concrete coring drill operator who is ready to build a long-term career. You already know your way around a core drill and can work independently on site. We need you to have a great work ethic and show up on time DAILY. Expectations and qualifications Must have proven experience operating core drilling equipment. Must have a great attitude and willingness to work with others. Must show up to work on time and ready to work. Should be able to problem solve and if necessary, ask questions when something is not understood. Must be focused on providing a quality end result. We DO NOT cut corners. Must be respectful and kind towards ALL CUSTOMERS. Must have a valid driver’s license and transportation to get to company shop daily. Must be able to drive pickup truck with trailer occasionally. Position: Concrete Core Drill Operator Reports to: Foreman Job Summary: The Core Drill Operator operates core drilling machines to core holes in concrete. Education: · Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance · Understanding of the employee rights and responsibilities under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act. Experience: · Minimum 1 year of experience operating core drilling equipment required. Nature of Communication Skills Required: Oral Communication Skills · Conflict resolution skills · Customer service abilities Written Communication Skills · Communicating effectively with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the audience · Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents Listening Communication Skills · The ability to correctly follow a given rule or set of rules in order to arrange things or actions in a certain order. · The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem Physical Demands: · Ability to conduct work that entails physical dexterity in lifting and carrying up to 45lbs · Physical ability to conduct work that requires frequent standing, stooping, and bending for extended periods of time. · The ability to keep the hand and arm steady while making an arm movement or while holding the arm and hand in one position · The ability to quickly make coordinated movements of one hand, a hand together with its arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects · The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects · The ability to see details of objects at a close range (within a few feet of the observer) Mental Demands: · Attention shifted frequently from one job detail to another · Occasions of interruptions or distracting influences · Ability to interact with a diversity of people and diverse levels of personnel · Taking direction in a pleasant and cooperative manner · Fixing, servicing, aligning, setting up, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles Working Conditions: · Some work outside of regular work schedule maybe necessary · Exposure to the weather is common because much of the work is done outside or in partially enclosed structures. · Frequent work with potentially dangerous tools and equipment · Mandatory apparel of personal protective equipment such as but not limited to; gloves, hardhat, and devices to protect eyes, mouth, or hearing, as needed. About us: Lions Concrete Cutting & Coring Inc is a fully insured and incorporated company that was founded in 2015. We are WSIB registered and have over 50 years of combined experience with concrete cutting in Waterloo. Our business offers a wide range of services including wall sawing, hand sawing, floor sawing, coring, concrete finishing, and GPR scanning for commercial, residential, industrial, and agricultural locations. We work hard to ensure the job is done on time and on budget and treat our customers with respect. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour Benefits: Dental care Extended health care Life insurance Vision care Experience: Core Drilling: 1 year (preferred) Licence/Certification: Class G Licence (preferred) Work Location: In person. NOTE: We service all of Southwestern Ontario. Drive time is fully paid but some days require 2 - 3hrs total of driving.
