Electrical Automation Engineer (Clean Energy Industrial Processing Operation) Greater Vancouver, BC Our client is a fast-growing leader in Green Energy field. They have partnered with Cameron Lappin of the Lock Search Group to find a dynamic Electrical Engineer to support their expansion within Canada. We are seeking an exceptional Electrical Automation Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team. This role bridges the gap between plant-floor execution and project engineering, providing technical ownership of electrical systems and documentation while supporting construction, commissioning, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical documentation, management of plant modifications, and supporting the final phases of construction and commissioning at an operating production facility. In parallel, the role will provide oversight and technical review of EPC electrical engineering deliverables for a future large-scale commercial plant. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to both existing operations and the development of a cutting-edge facility. Key Responsibilities Maintain ownership of all electrical drawings and documentation for the Delta production facility. Implement system upgrades involving modifications and expansions to electrical systems, PLC logic, instrumentation, and motor controls. Collaborate with EPC contractors, equipment vendors, and trade partners during commissioning and post-startup activities. Support continuous improvement initiatives, control strategy optimization, and future capital projects. Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams as required. Develop and maintain electrical standards, engineering procedures, technical documentation, and drawings. Provide technical leadership and direction for electrical design activities related to future commercial facilities. Review and approve EPC electrical engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards. Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC systems, with a strong emphasis on Rockwell Automation platforms. Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Completion of EIT or currently enrolled in the program, PENG designation would work. 3–5 years of experience working in an industrial electrical/automation setting Strong understanding of industrial electrical distribution, motor control systems, and instrumentation. Experience interpreting and utilizing P&IDs, datasheets, specifications, and engineering drawings. Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing environment and support the development of others through mentoring and collaboration. Exposure to commissioning and startup of industrial facilities. Experience with medium-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems. Experience in technology commercialization, process plants, chemical processing, mining, energy, or other heavy industrial environments. Exposure to commissioning and startup of industrial facilities. Comfort utilizing Microsoft Office Suite & AutoCAD Preference to someone who has experience with Rockwell Automation software, including Studio 5000 Experience dealing with PLC programming, modification, and troubleshooting Experience with medium-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems. Experience in technology commercialization, process plants, chemical processing, mining, energy, or other heavy industrial environments.
