This newly established role will be part of the company’s senior leadership team and will play a key role in supporting its growth strategy. JOB SUMMARY The Estimating & Sales Leader will lead the front end of the business, with a primary focus on estimating and quote management, while also overseeing sales and business development activities. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role will lead a team of estimators and sales professionals, ensuring opportunities are effectively managed from initial lead through to signed order. The successful candidate will bring strong fabrication knowledge, commercial acumen, and hands-on leadership experience, with the opportunity to progressively assume greater ownership of pricing, margins, and commercial strategy. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Lead, coach, and develop a team of estimators and sales professionals, establishing clear expectations and accountability. Oversee the preparation, review, and delivery of accurate, competitive quotes for custom fabrication projects. Read technical drawings and assess fabrication requirements to ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with shop capabilities. Improve estimating processes, turnaround times, accuracy, and margin performance while tracking results against actual sales. Manage the CRM and own the process from incoming lead through signed order, including opportunity qualification, quote follow-up, and account management. Drive new business development while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers and key accounts. Develop estimating and sales strategies aligned with the organization's annual plan, working closely with the external marketing partner. Meet with customers as required and provide hands-on leadership across the department. JOB REQUIREMENTS 5+ years of hands-on leadership experience in custom or engineered fabrication, build-to-print, or design-build manufacturing environments. Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and understand fabrication processes. Experience leading an estimating/quoting function, sales team, or a combination of both. Strong understanding of the commercial considerations behind quoting, pricing, margins, and profitability. Demonstrated success managing existing customer relationships while developing new business. Proven leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and team development. Strong CRM experience and the ability to establish disciplined processes for opportunity and quote management. Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to balance technical, operational, and commercial priorities. Availability to travel for customer visits within the territory; overnight travel is uncommon. Conveyor industry experience is an asset but not required.
