About The Opportunity Our growing client in Ottawa West is looking for a progressive Director of Finance to join their fast-paced, dynamic organization on a full-time, permanent basis. Duties will include but are not limited to: Oversee Accounting team to ensure accuracy and submissions in a timely manner, providing support as needed Management of General Ledger and related duties Preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements, Financial reporting Submission of tax remittances Coordination and preparation of budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain planning and control procedures and analyze report variances Risk Analysis and ad hoc analysis as needed Preparing Month and Year End closing, ensure transactions are complete, accurate, and properly documented Liaising with auditors, take an active role in internal and external Audit, providing required reporting Ensuring compliance as well as implementation of policies and procedures, monitoring for accurate and successful execution Provide mentorship and development for Accounting team through thoughtful evaluation Working closely with internal and external stakeholders and presenting financial reports Provide contributions and recommendations regarding financial aspects of the business, communicating with Senior Management on financial variances and strategies, including developing long-term growth models Participate in other active projects and ad hoc reporting as needed About You The successful candidate will have the following: Active CPA Designation in good standing 7+ years of recent experience within a similar role for a medium-to-large organization 3+ years of leadership of an accounting team Project-based experience a strong asset Strong oral, written, and communication skills in English Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking Highly organized, strong attention to detail Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborative- able to work with all levels of staff About the Job The salary band for this opportunity is $130,000 to $150,000 depending on relevant previous experience. What you’ll do

Requirements
