Why You’ll Love This Role Lumentum is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Software Verification Engineer (Co-op/Intern) to join the R&D Software Design Verification team based in Ottawa, Ontario. The Opportunity... 4-month term: January 2027 to April 2027 8-month term (preferred): January 2027 to August 2027 12-month term: January 2027 to December 2027 Pay Range: $24-35/hr What You’ll Be Doing Do you enjoy the trial of problem solving, communicate well with others and act as a team player? You will have a positive impact on our success by: Contributing to the ongoing development of automated solutions for our next generation optical switches. Collecting and analyzing test data to improve product performance and quality. Solving complex technical problems. Working in close collaboration with the Optical, Hardware, Software, Firmware, Design Authority, and Project Management R&D teams. Analyzing and characterizing device failures; and, Improving the quality and robustness of our products. What We’re Looking For A craving to succeed and to do things right the first time. Strong object-oriented software design and implementation (any language). Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Education 2+ years towards a degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science or equivalent. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution. The following qualifications are an asset: Experience with C#, Python, bash scripting, and Linux. Requirements
