The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre offers an excellent benefits package for its employees as well as vacation and sick time. The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata currently has over 200 employees, who offer supports to children, youth, families, and elders. It is our intention to work with and for our community. The maintenance person would ensure our properties/spaces are well maintained to ensure that families are safe within all our buildings. Required skills: Must have 4-8 years’ experience in the Building/Maintenance field. A certification in Building Maintenance would be a plus. Experience in construction, plumbing or electrical work would be strongly preferred. WHMIS Certificate Definite skills in carpentry, drywalling, painting, and must be mechanically inclined. Ability to work independently and problem-solve is essential. Strong motivational and leadership skills. Communicate effectively in oral and written form. Ability to prioritize work, set and meet deadlines. Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and clean driving record. Must provide a current (within the last three months) Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Query, Child Abuse Registry Check and be subject to a Prior Contact Check. Brief Overview of some Duties: Ensure the maintenance and repair of all equipment and machinery. Organize and implement a daily maintenance and repair schedule. Maintain an inventory of all equipment, tools, and machinery. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment, structures, and grounds on the property. Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical. Perform regular property inspections of units, common areas, building exteriors, and landscape. Ensure effective management of loss prevention, risk management, security, maintenance, marketing, landscaping, snow removal, ventilation, heating, cooling and other daily activities. Keep accurate records of space conditions including roof, HVAC, and utilities. Plan and manage replacement of major capital expense items such as HVAC system, roof systems.
