What You’ll Be Doing You’ll have the opportunity to: Monitor and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly production costs. Track costs related to drilling, blasting, hauling, crushing, and processing. Provide detailed cost variance analysis and investigate root causes. Support annual budgets and forecasts for mining operations. Work with operational teams to improve efficiency and manage costs. Help ensure operational activities align with financial goals. Support the organization and accounting treatment of capital spending. Track and capitalize equipment and machinery costs in accordance with accounting policies. Work with Maintenance to ensure equipment, machinery, and other assets are appropriately accounted for and costed. Allocate labour, materials, overhead, and other costs accurately across mining activities and cost centres. Support compliance with company accounting policies and applicable requirements. Participate in audits and internal control improvements. Work with ERP and cost accounting systems. Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy and timeliness of cost reporting. Requirements Who We’re Looking For You might be a great fit if you: Have post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Bring 4+ years of accounting experience in mining or another heavy industry. Hold a professional accounting designation — considered an asset. Understand cost control and cost allocation methods. Are proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Bring strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Enjoy solving problems and getting to the “why” behind the numbers. Understand the mining lifecycle and operational cost drivers. Benefits What’s In It for You?
