Job summary

We are seeking a Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in preparing accurate estimates, managing bid processes, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project execution. This position requires a deep understanding of construction estimating, and strong negotiation skills. The Estimator will be instrumental in driving profitable project outcomes and supporting the company's growth objectives. Responsibilities (Included, but not limited to): Manage estimates from RFQ assignment to Purchase Order acceptance and Project Management (PM) Hand-Off. Contribute to standardization of estimating processes and best practices Ensure proper documentation and organization of all estimating activities in compliance with established procedures Review RFQs, drawings, and specification to clearly define scope of supply Identify gaps, ambiguities, and inconsistencies in bid documents Develop and document assumptions, inclusions, exclusions and clarifications Develop accurate material, labour, subcontract and indirect cost estimates. Identify commercial, technical, and schedule risks within each estimate Coordinate with various departments to validate, labour rates, production assumptions and schedules. Lead estimating handoff meeting with Project Management; clearly communicate scope, assumptions, risks and pricing breakdowns. Ensure all estimating documentation is available to the project team. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate estimators Stay current on market trends, labour rates, material pricing, and industry benchmarks Additional duties as assigned by Executive Team Qualifications: Post secondary degree and/or diploma is required; Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating and/or related field is preferred. PMP and/or Gold Seal considered an asset Minimum 5 years experience in estimating, with demonstrated responsibility for complex estimates/projects Proven track record of delivering accurate estimates and successful bids Experience in the construction and/or manufacturing sector Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills; high attention to detail and accuracy with strong communication skills High proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with estimating software Leadership and mentoring capabilities Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Benefits: Dental care Employee assistance program Extended health care On-site parking Paid time off Profit sharing RRSP match Work Location: In person
