RETAIL STORE MANAGER- MALA BOUTIQUE Full-Time | Tuesday–Saturday | In Person 2770 Dufferin Street, Unit 112, North York, ON Approximately 10 minutes south of Yorkdale Shopping Centre ABOUT MALA BOUTIQUE: MALA Boutique is an independently owned luxury contemporary women’s fashion boutique with two locations: our year-round Toronto store and our seasonal boutique in Muskoka. We carry a curated selection of luxury contemporary brands including Nili Lotan, Zimmermann, Citizens of Humanity, AGOLDE, LoveShackFancy, FREECITY, Suzie Kondi and many more. We are looking for an experienced, organized and hands-on Retail Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Toronto location. This is a full-time, five-day-a-week position, Tuesday through Saturday, and is fully in person. THE ROLE: This is a hands-on management position with a strong focus on client services, inventory management and store operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented and comfortable taking ownership of the day-to-day needs of a busy independent boutique. You should also enjoy fashion, working directly with clients and being part of a smaller team where everyone contributes. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work directly with clients, providing personalized service, styling and product recommendations Drive sales and help build long-term client relationships Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Toronto boutique Manage inventory accuracy, organization and stock levels Enter online data regarding incoming merchandise Coordinate inventory transfers between our Toronto and seasonal Muskoka location Maintain visual merchandising and overall presentation of the store Upload and maintain products and inventory on Shopify and Lightspeed Fulfill, pack and ship online orders and coordinate customer pickups Assist with scheduling and day-to-day management of the retail team Help train staff on store procedures, product knowledge and customer service Assist our Social Media Coordinator as needed with content creation, product imagery and in-store social media content Handle the various day-to-day responsibilities that come with operating a small, hands-on retail business REQUIRMENTS: 2–3 years of retail management experience Strong experience with inventory management Proven customer service and sales experience Highly organized with excellent attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, proactive and comfortable working independently Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced retail environment Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle CONSIDERED AN ASSET: Previous experience in luxury, premium or contemporary women’s fashion Familiarity with brands and clientele similar to those carried at MALA Experience with Shopify Experience with Lightspeed Retail Experience with e-commerce order fulfillment and online inventory An interest in fashion, styling and social media/content creation SCHEDULE AND LOCATION This is a full-time, in-person position working Tuesday through Saturday at our Toronto boutique at 2770 Dufferin Street, Unit 112, North York, Ontario, approximately 10 minutes south of Yorkdale Shopping Centre. While MALA also operates a seasonal boutique in Muskoka, this position is based at our Toronto location.
