Role Description: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a full-time role based in the Niagara Region, responsible for the overall maintenance, upkeep and repair of company-managed properties. Day-to-day tasks include cleanup and exterior property upkeep, performing routine inspections, identifying maintenance needs (preventative and reactive), and completing minor repairs. The technician will handle cleaning, basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks, respond to service requests from tenants, and coordinate with vendors for specialized work when needed. The role also involves maintaining building standards, documenting work performed, and ensuring that facilities remain clean, functional, and compliant with applicable regulations. Qualifications: Candidates should possess skills in general Maintenance and Troubleshooting to diagnose issues and maintain building systems. Candidates should possess skills in Facility Management (FM) and Building Maintenance to ensure proper operation and upkeep of properties. Candidates should possess skills in Maintenance & Repair to perform corrective and preventive work on building structures, fixtures, and equipment. Relevant experience in residential or commercial property maintenance is beneficial, including janitorial, basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry knowledge. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently and prioritize tasks are important. Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach to interacting with tenants and colleagues are desired. Ability to lift moderate loads, use standard maintenance tools safely, and comply with health and safety regulations is required. Trade certification, technical training, or equivalent practical experience in building or facility maintenance is an asset.
