Accounting Analyst for community services agency client, downtown Toronto. Marberg Job Number: 2901. Job Type: Temporary. Initial Term: October 19 2026 to December 31 2026, with possible extension. Existing Vacancy: Yes. Compensation: $41.66 per hour. Regular Work Hours: 9 am to 5 pm not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday (35 work hours per week). Work Location: 100% onsite at client's downtown Toronto office, close to TTC station. Position Reports To: Manager, Financial Reporting. Responsibilities Summary: Support financial reporting and analysis processes, including monthly and quarterly close of the AR and AP sub-ledger, journal entries, payment requisitions, analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, and maintenance of various schedules, supporting documents, accounts payable and receivable processes. Contribute to implementation of continuous improvement projects. Demonstrate sound judgement in consideration of financial resources and maintain strict compliance with organization financial policies and procedures. Prepare month-end and annual journal entry adjustments, accruals, prepaids, amortization, re-allocation and corrections in order to accurately reflect financial information, such as cost allocations and account coding corrections. Analyze financial records, reconcile G/L accounts and bank accounts, prepare journal entries and investigate and address any discrepancies, prepare schedules for reporting and audit purposes, and communicate with stakeholders. Prepare Fixed Asset Capitalization and Amortization entries, update schedules and maintain backup documents. Assist with daily cash balance reports and system validation reports. Initiate notification of inter-bank transfers and respond to cheque clearing confirmation requests. Complete accounts receivable and cost recovery functions, review and interpret service agreements, and prepare billings accordingly. Close and balance sub-ledger reports to GL. Reconcile General Leger Balance Sheet accounts and maintain related reconciliation schedules. Reconcile salaries and wage advance accounts. Maintain accounting records and prepare client reports and statements. Respond to inquiries. Update GL data files and perform financial reporting/account analyses for financial reports for Auditors as required. Additional accounting and financial analysis responsibilities as required. Qualifications: Education: Post secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Business or Accounting. Professional Credentials: Completed or close to completion of CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation. Preferred Work Experience: At least 3+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis. Preferred Sector Experience: Not-for-profit / public sector accounting experience preferred. Technical and Language Skills Requirements: Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) (will be tested). Advanced MS Excel (will be tested). Demonstrated experience interacting with relational databases and BI tools (may be tested). General strong proficiency with MSOffice applications, numeracy, and attention to detail (may be tested). Familiarity with enterprise risk management programs. Strong English language skills, both written and verbal. Task -Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes: Demonstrated experience implementing and assessing internal controls. Demonstrated record of professional conduct and character. Responsible, reliable and works to deadlines. Focused and able to work effectively with minimal direction and supervision, to prioritize tasks effectively, and to manage volume targets and due dates. Pleasant and courteous. Demonstrated commitment to client service and professional representation of the organization. Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy. Superior attention to detail, and organized, methodical approach to completion of tasks. Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, and in an advisory capacity, and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated successful experience of prioritizing work, making decisions and communicating with others within a values framework of respect, equity, anti-racism, diversity and inclusivity. Additional Requirements: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request. Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies. Ability to promptly provide reasonably recent, qualified employment references upon request who are available to speak with either Marberg or Marberg's client. Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities. Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start. Requirements

A post-secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Business, or Accounting is required, along with a completed or nearly completed CPA or equivalent designation and at least three years of relevant financial analysis experience. Candidates should have GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, experience with databases and BI tools, strong attention to detail and communication, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively; not-for-profit or public-sector accounting experience is preferred.
